Job Responsibility

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for transportation, handling, permits, and any additional services required
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, and subcontractors to optimize cost savings
  • Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Develop comprehensive transportation plans tailored to the unique requirements of OOG and heavy lift cargo
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their specific cargo needs, timelines, and delivery locations
  • Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of cargo
  • Evaluate and select the most suitable routes and modes of transport (road, rail, sea, or air) based on cargo specifications, cost-efficiency, and safety considerations
  • Perform route surveys to assess any potential obstacles or limitations and ensure safe passage of cargo

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, particularly in handling OOG and heavy lift cargo
  • In-depth understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance
  • Proven experience in managing logistics for complex industrial projects
  • Proficiency in logistics software, tender management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to develop innovative logistics solutions under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing bids and tenders
  • Ideally able to provide technical drawings
