Job Description:

The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to work out of the Company's equipment shop in Sharon Center, OH. Summary: Perform a variety of routine and complex repairs and maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and machinery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform all maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
  • Service equipment per Company maintenance schedules and inspection reports
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments, and replacements
  • Inspect, lubricate, and service equipment
  • Check, fill, and/or change fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment support systems, such as electrical, hydraulic, suspension, and air and brake systems
  • Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate repair records
  • Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience repairing heavy equipment including engine repair and diagnostics
  • Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with tank endorsement preferred
  • or willing and able to obtain
  • Previous experience servicing or working with cranes a plus
  • Welding and basic fabrication skills are a plus
  • Basic computer/iPad skills
  • Experience using repair manuals/software, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair equipment or component failure
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Maintain all required certifications by ODOT, OSHA and Company safety programs
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Willing and able to learn new skills via hands-on training and acquire additional certifications as needed
