Requirements

At least 3 years of dedicated heavy equipment operation experience with specific experience operating excavators, dozers, skid steers, and rock trucks
Read and interpret site-specific safety plans
may be amended daily
Read and interpret equipment operator's manuals
Read and interpret load charts for corresponding rigging equipment
Operate heavy equipment and/or drive trucks
Work in areas of uneven terrain
Assist in the training of new or less-skilled Equipment Operators
Read and comprehend site-specific rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS), warning tags, traffic signs and procedure manuals
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Responsibility

Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant industry standards, policies, and site procedures
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored at close of shift
Advise direct supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
Participate in routine maintenance
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Minimum two years' experience as an Equipment Operator or completion of recognized apprenticeship program.

Job Responsibility

Operates heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments.
Equipment is used to excavate, load, or move and distribute dirt, gravel, or other materials.
Excavates or stockpiles material on roads, drill pads, event sites, and construction sites.
Rips rock, cuts slopes, pushes scrapers, and digs sumps.
Feeds crushers or batch plants
removes aggregate from under conveyor belts.
Assures that machinery is maintained properly and fluid levels are adequate.
Operator may read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust and make minor emergency repairs to equipment.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
