We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Walker Compost Facility location in Arthur, ON. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be servicing heavy equipment on regular intervals including preventative maintenance, performing hydraulic work and major mechanical repairs to the equipment, and ordering parts and documenting repairs as needed. This is a full time position, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The wage for this position is $39.91/hour.
Job Responsibility:
Perform maintenance and complex repairs to equipment such as screeners, grinders, bulldozers and loaders
Implement a preventative maintenance program on equipment
Troubleshoot in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements
Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools
Design, weld and manufacture custom parts when needed
Exercise good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs
Requirements:
Experience as a licensed heavy-duty equipment technician (421A)
Good communication and teamwork
Strong commitment to established safety protocols
Nice to have:
Propane ticket is an asset
Common core training is an asset
