Job Description:

M. R. Tanner Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a Class A CDL is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery while also being qualified to transport equipment and vehicles requiring a commercial driver’s license. This dual role combines mechanical expertise with safe operation of large trucks and trailers.

Job Responsibility:

Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and constructions machinery
Document repairs and maintenance accurately in longs, work orders, and timesheets
Respond to service calls for breakdowns in the field
Ensure Compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and company Safety Regulations
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot diesel engines and hydraulic systems
Other duties assigned as necessary

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment or truck repair
Class A CDL License
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail
Self-starter, result-oriented individual with sufficient interpersonal skills to fit within company culture and become a valuable team member
High school diploma or GED
vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and respond to emergency repairs
Physical capability to lift heavy parts, work overheard, and operate tools safely
