Job Description:

The Heating Installer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heating systems in domestic and/or commercial properties. The role requires a high standard of technical competence, customer service, and adherence to UK regulations and industry best practice. The installer will work both independently and as part of a wider team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

Job Responsibility:

Install, commission, and test a range of heating systems, including boilers, radiators, pipework, hot water systems, and associated controls
Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases
Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe, Building Regulations, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards
Carry out system upgrades, replacements, and remedial works as required
Provide clear and professional communication with customers regarding installation processes and system operation
Complete all relevant documentation, installation reports, and certification accurately and on time
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles to a high standard
Adhere to all health and safety policies and participate in onsite risk assessments
Support junior team members or apprentices where appropriate

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Heating Installer, Heating Engineer, or similar role
Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating, Gas Safe certification if applicable)
Strong practical knowledge of central heating systems and installation procedures
Full UK driving licence
Ability to read technical drawings and follow manufacturer instructions
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and customer-service skills

Nice to have:

Experience with renewable heating technologies (e.g. heat pumps, solar thermal)
Unvented hot water qualification (G3)
Electrical competence relating to heating controls
Experience working in social housing, new build, or commercial environments
