Job Description:

The Heating Installer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heating systems in domestic and/or commercial properties. The role requires a high standard of technical competence, customer service, and adherence to UK regulations and industry best practice. The installer will work both independently and as part of a wider team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality installations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, commission, and test a range of heating systems, including boilers, radiators, pipework, hot water systems, and associated controls
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases
  • Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe, Building Regulations, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards
  • Carry out system upgrades, replacements, and remedial works as required
  • Provide clear and professional communication with customers regarding installation processes and system operation
  • Complete all relevant documentation, installation reports, and certification accurately and on time
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles to a high standard
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and participate in onsite risk assessments
  • Support junior team members or apprentices where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Heating Installer, Heating Engineer, or similar role
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating, Gas Safe certification if applicable)
  • Strong practical knowledge of central heating systems and installation procedures
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow manufacturer instructions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with renewable heating technologies (e.g. heat pumps, solar thermal)
  • Unvented hot water qualification (G3)
  • Electrical competence relating to heating controls
  • Experience working in social housing, new build, or commercial environments
