Job Description:

The city of Amesbury is seeking a dynamic and innovative Healthy Aging Program Manager to lead programming and daily operations supporting older adults. Reporting to the Director of Public Wellness, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on program development, enhancing engagement at the Costello Center and throughout the community. The Manager exercises independent judgment while ensuring high-quality, inclusive programming.

Job Responsibility:

  • developing and evaluating intergenerational programs
  • monitoring participation and outcomes
  • building partnerships with schools, organizations, and community groups
  • collaborating with the Council on Aging Board and the Friends of the Council on Aging
  • supporting citywide initiatives
  • overseeing daily operations to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
  • supervising approximately 18 volunteers and a part-time van driver
  • managing communications and outreach
  • administering the Senior and Veteran Tax Work-Off Program

Requirements:

  • three to five years of relevant experience

  • Performs daily administration of benefits plans including processing changes and updates in Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and making corrections and adjustments as necessary
  • Works with appropriate personnel to build and maintain benefits reports
  • Coordinates the benefit enrollment process for all team members, including new team member orientation and ensures proper enrollment in HRIS and carriers’ enrollment systems
  • Audits new hire elections before they are transmitted to vendor(s)
  • Audits eligibility files to carriers and resolves any outstanding issues before transmitting
  • Ensures timely processing of Qualified Family Status Changes and Qualified Medical Support Court Orders (QMSCO)
