Job Description

The Healthcare IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects related to enterprise healthcare applications across the organization. This role ensures that clinical, operational, and administrative systems are implemented and optimized to support patient care, improve workflows, and enhance organizational efficiency. The Project Manager works closely with clinical leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and user satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end project management for healthcare application initiatives including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management Systems, Revenue Cycle Applications, PACS, RIS, Laboratory, and Pharmacy systems, Patient engagement and population health platforms
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple projects
  • Utilize Monday.com to track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, manage project portfolios and workflows, maintain transparency across stakeholders
  • Standardize project documentation, templates, and reporting structures
  • Ensure consistent use of project management tools across teams
  • Work closely with clinicians and end users to understand workflow requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and ensure solutions are practical, efficient, and support patient care delivery
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies
  • Manage and escalate issues as needed to ensure project continuity
  • Maintain risk and issue logs with clear ownership and resolution timelines
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Track vendor performance against deliverables and timelines
  • Assist in contract and scope alignment with external partners
  • Coordinate testing, training, and go-live readiness activities
  • Support deployment planning including end-user training, communication strategies, and on-site support models
  • Ensure smooth transitions from project implementation to operational support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare IT
  • Experience managing healthcare application projects across clinical and operational domains
  • Strong understanding of: Clinical workflows, Healthcare operations, Regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Nice to have

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent
  • Experience in hospital, ambulatory, or FQHC environments
  • Familiarity with healthcare integrations (HL7, APIs, interoperability)
  • Experience with portfolio/project management tools such as Monday.com
