WESTSIDE IS LOOKING for a Lead Healthcare Coordinator! JOIN THE TEAM TAKING CARE OF YOUR COMMUNITY! Westside Family Healthcare is a nonprofit organization that provides high quality primary medical care without regard to ability to pay. The Lead Healthcare Coordinator provides expertise, orientation, training and mentorship to Healthcare Coordinators (HCCs) and functions as a Healthcare Coordinator.

Job Responsibility

  • Be the primary source of knowledge and expertise for insurance referrals and prior authorizations
  • Work closely with the MHC to build and maintain partnerships with specialist groups, facilities, funded programs, registries, and health plans in the medical neighborhood
  • Work closely with the MHC to maintain written workflow processes and procedures for staff
  • Distribute medical specialty referral requests and procedure orders to Healthcare Coordinators (HCCs)
  • Develop and maintain training materials and provide training, ongoing support, mentoring and remediation for HCCs as needed
  • Visit clinical sites to assist Healthcare Coordinators as required and offer direct, on-site support
  • Maintain updated lists of specialist and imaging resources for use by the HCCs and for distribution to patients
  • Evaluate current processes and develop and implement improvement initiatives for the Healthcare Coordination Department
  • Resolve patient complaints and answer patients’ questions regarding Healthcare Coordination policies and procedures
  • Maintain access to Health Information Exchange (DHIN) and other related systems, and support and train staff in utilizing these programs to coordinate care
  • Perform the responsibilities outlined in the Healthcare Coordinator I job description

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in healthcare or health insurance
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and electronic medical records software
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and spoken Spanish
