Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Healthcare Contracts Paralegal to provide direct support to healthcare attorneys within a large public healthcare legal department. This role is primarily focused on healthcare contracting and legal operations, with limited, as‑needed litigation support related to healthcare and hospital operations. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys handling regulated healthcare contracts, vendor agreements, and procurement‑related matters, supporting contract workflows, document management, and compliance‑driven processes in a public‑sector healthcare environment. Location: New York City – On‑site 4 days/week, 1 day remote; Schedule: Full‑Time, standard business hours; Pay Rate: $40–$65/hour (DOE); Duration: Ongoing contract

Job Responsibility

  • Provide day-to-day paralegal support to healthcare attorneys on healthcare-related contracts, including clinical services, operational vendors, and healthcare technology agreements
  • Assist with contract intake, processing, document routing, version control, and execution tracking using a Contract Management / CLM system
  • Gather, organize, and maintain contract-related documentation to support attorney review, approvals, and compliance obligations
  • Maintain accurate and organized contract files, logs, and trackers to support internal reporting and audit readiness
  • Assist with drafting, formatting, and updating contract templates, amendments, and related correspondence
  • Manage legal correspondence, including drafting, routing, logging, and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing communications
  • Support legal operations functions such as scanning, filing, data entry, template preparation, and responding to FOIL-style or public records requests
  • Coordinate with internal hospital departments and legal stakeholders to ensure timely collection and delivery of contract-related materials
  • Provide occasional litigation support to healthcare attorneys, primarily focused on document organization, file maintenance, and deadline tracking
  • Assist with formatting and proofreading litigation documents and coordinating document retrieval from internal hospital departments as needed
  • Support trial or hearing preparation on a limited basis, including exhibit organization and management of medical-legal records

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in in-house legal departments and/or law firm environments strongly preferred, particularly supporting healthcare, public sector, hospital-based, or contract administration teams
  • 2–5+ years of paralegal experience, with a primary focus on contracts, legal operations, or procurement support
  • limited litigation support experience is acceptable
  • Prior exposure to healthcare-related contracts, vendor agreements, or regulated contracting environments preferred
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with Contract Management Systems / Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms strongly preferred
  • Ability to support attorneys with contract intake, document organization, version control, execution tracking, and correspondence
  • Experience providing light or occasional litigation support (e.g., document organization, formatting, deadline tracking) is a plus, but not a core requirement
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and document-management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contract workflows and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential and health-related information with professionalism and discretion
