Healthcare Assistant

• Provide assistance to residents with personal care, meal prep and feeding, hygiene and housekeeping to ensure residents needs are met
• Support the nursing team in helping implement care plans and risk assessments to ensure person centred care which is at the heart of our nursing home
• Safeguarding our residents and reporting any concerns
• Assisting in the physical movement of residents with reduced mobility using equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs etc
• Prioritizing the residents wishes and needs to ensure the best quality care
• To participate in handovers etc. daily and ensure smooth transition of care between staff and effective communication regarding resident’s health needs
• Perform your duties in line with in house health and safety regulations and in line with HIQA policies and procedures
• Act as an advocate for our residents providing them with any kind of support and information they may need
• Uphold resident confidentiality at all times

• Successful applicant will be subject to garda vetting
• Fetac level 5 in care of the older person, will consider those currently studying
• Previous experience with care of the elderly an advantage
• Manual and people moving/handling essential, training can be provided to the right candidate
• Flexibility will be required across all 7 days of the week with a roster that’s subject to change weekly
