Healthcare Assistant – Pre Assessment

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures
