Job Description:

Lead a nationally dispersed team to strengthen CSIRO’s physical and psychological wellbeing initiatives. Drive strategic, organisation‑wide programs that enhance CSIRO’s health, safety and wellbeing culture. Enjoy flexible, hybrid working while leading and influencing across CSIRO’s national footprint.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement high‑impact health and wellbeing initiatives, including injury management, rehabilitation and return‑to‑work programs that improve physical and psychosocial outcomes
  • Influence and partner with senior leadership to shape strategic HSE direction and embed a proactive health and safety culture
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Injury Management Advisors and specialist health professionals, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance
  • Analyse complex HSE data, identify trends and implement solutions to improve organisational health, wellbeing and compliance

Requirements:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree (allied health, psychology or related field) and at least five years’ leadership experience in injury management, case management and RTW functions within a large or complex organisation
  • In‑depth knowledge of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act (1988) and related legislation, with demonstrated ability to ensure regulatory compliance and identify organisational risks
  • A strong record of influencing senior leaders, building relationships and communicating effectively to drive strategic HSE outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering impactful, innovative health, wellbeing and RTW initiatives that support cultural change
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, best practice and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex HSE concepts for diverse audiences and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical capability, including ability to interpret data, identify trends and implement solutions to improve health and wellbeing performance
  • A demonstrated passion for ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in HSE practice
