Job Description:

We are looking for a Health & Safety Sr Lead to manage all elements of H&S at WeWork within Brazil.

Job Responsibility:

  • Be the subject matter expert for Health & Safety, driving and facilitating corporate governance through Brazil
  • Provide the business with strategic leadership for health and safety
  • Advise the Brazil Operations Director and General Manager of any potential Health & Safety risks
  • Create innovative, straightforward and scalable health and safety management frameworks
  • Work closely with the Global Health & Safety Senior Director to ensure company Health and Safety Standards and initiatives are absorbed in Brazil
  • Guide and empower Community Managers to ensure health and safety requirements are fully implemented
  • Work closely with the Facilities Operations Managers to ensure robust facilities maintenance regimes are in place
  • Ensure compliance with local occupational health and safety regulations, including the Regulatory Standards (NRs)
  • Develop and implement policies, programs, and training sessions to prevent workplace accidents and occupational illnesses
  • Support the People Team with the Occupational Health Medical Control Program (PCMSO)
  • Manage the Environmental Risk Prevention Program (PPRA)
  • Monitor and evaluate safety performance indicators, reporting results and implementing corrective actions
  • Conduct ergonomic risk assessments
  • Support the HR team in processes such as return-to-work procedures after medical leaves, onboarding of new employees, and addressing occupational health-related issues
  • Support the People Team with the management of employee work-related accidents and work-related ill-health
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops for leaders and teams on health, safety
  • Coordinate fire brigade and first aid training
  • Implement and regularly review evacuation plans and emergency response protocols
  • Monitor and manage vendors and partners related to safety
  • Work closely with Community to help facilitate first aid & fire safety training
  • Implement robust and mature monitoring, auditing and reporting processes on health and safety performance
  • In collaboration with the Security team, develop and maintain WeWork’s emergency planning, preparedness and management
  • Be the main point of contact for liaising with Enforcement Officers on matters which arise relating to H&S
  • Conduct due diligence checks through management of Brazil vendor H&S vetting process of outsourced vendors
  • Provide support to organisations the Events Team on H&S requirements
  • Working with Operations, Community, Development, People Team and all other departments
  • Build relationships with external vendors to ensure we comply with all regulatory requirements & discuss H&S items monthly

Requirements:

  • Excellent command of English
  • 5+ years experience managing H&S functions and outsourced vendors
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Facilities Workplace environment and experience in managing Events
  • Strong knowledge in legal compliance e.g. fire, water systems and asbestos requirements compliance
  • Advanced knowledge of Regulatory Standards (NRs) and other applicable labor laws
  • Expertise in health and safety management tools, including audits and technical reports
  • Minimum of level 5 H&S Qualification
  • Hold auditing experience
