Based in Johor, this role requires extensive travel throughout Malaysia and the APAC region —including frequent visits to Thailand, and other neighbouring countries. The successful candidate will provide leadership, coordination, and guidance on all Health & Safety matters across diverse project environments such as construction sites, data centres, and corporate facilities. The role is responsible for maintaining high H&S standards, ensuring compliance with both local country legislation and ONNEC global standards, and supporting multiple project teams simultaneously.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to across all countries of operation, reviewing and updating them to ensure ongoing compliance
Ensure ONNEC meets legislative requirements in each jurisdiction
Promote strong H&S culture, proactive risk management, and safe working practices across all regional sites
Conduct regular site inspections across Malaysia, Thailand, and other APAC locations, ensuring non‑conformities are recorded and closed out promptly
Lead or support incident investigations, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure findings are shared across the region
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date H&S documentation, training records, permits, and incident logs
Adapt and localise H&S policies and safe systems of work for each country while aligning with ONNEC global standards
Maintain a visible presence on high‑priority project sites, providing coaching, support, and practical guidance to management and operational teams
Coordinate and roll out structured training programmes, both mandatory regional training and ONNEC internal H&S development
Stay informed about H&S legislative changes across multiple countries and communicate updates to senior management
Prepare regular regional H&S performance reports and present updates to senior leadership
Attend and contribute to internal and client meetings, representing the H&S function professionally
Liaise with external bodies such as insurers, regulatory agencies, consultants, and training providers across different countries
Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by management
Requirements:
Professional, discreet, and able to build strong relationships across cultures and teams
Excellent planning, organisational, and time‑management abilities, especially when handling multiple sites across different countries
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving capability and resilience
Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality practices, with the ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements for multiple countries
Proven experience conducting audits and writing high‑quality reports
Confident in delivering training sessions, toolbox talks, and presentations
Ability to audit and assess compliance against legislation, internal processes, and international standards
Comfortable working within construction, technical, and data centre environments
Flexibility for significant regional travel
Nice to have:
Region‑specific certifications are beneficial
Experience working within large multinational companies or multi‑country operations is highly desirable
