The health and safety of our colleagues is at the heart of how we operate at apetito every day. The HSE Advisor will supports our Wiltshire Farm Food depots across the South region and South Wales so you'll be confident working autonomously out in the field and building relationships with teams remotely. As part of the company’s HSE team you will play a critical role in ensuring that our people can work in the safest and most effective way possible and ensure that our business complies with UK legislation. You'll be a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Advisor with significant experience promoting and maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards in the food storage and delivery sector. Adept at risk assessment, incident investigation, and ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation. Strong communication and a passion for cultivating a culture of safety and continuous improvement will be key to your success. You will work closely with and support the Senior HSE Manager - Logistics in developing and delivering high standards of HS&E across the UK depots. This will be achieved through providing support and advice on the implementation of HSF&E management systems as well as undertaking audit, review work and providing technical advice to managers and employees. You should expect to be on the road 3 – 4 days per week (for which a company car is provided) with some overnight stays required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide practical support and advice to the Wiltshire Farm Foods management teams, both locally and centrally, to achieve consistently high standards of legal compliance and risk management across all depots
  • Conduct regular site reviews to assess compliance with relevant UK HSE legislation and apetito operating procedures
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, producing detailed reports and supporting the implementation of corrective actions
  • Lead and support multi-functional teams to complete risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards using the hierarchy of control
  • Create toolbox talks and safety briefings for site personnel
  • Maintain and update HSE documentation, including risk assessments and safety plans

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Proven experience in a similar HSE role
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practices
  • Experience in managing ISO 45001, 14001 and 50001 certifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions at pace
  • Driven and determined to make things happen and watching the detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • Engage and coach colleagues from across the business
  • Motivate colleagues to live best practice
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • You must have held a UK manual driving licence for at least 2 years
