As a Health & Safety Coordinator in our aggregate operations, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our people safe across pits, quarries, and field sites. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll support the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS). You’ll work closely with site teams, supervisors, and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs) to ensure compliance, lead by example in the field, and help foster a strong, proactive safety culture. This position is based out of our Niagara Falls office, with regular travel to local work sites.

  • Assist in developing site-specific Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver training to employees
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and participate in incident investigations
  • Maintain accurate safety records and submit reports using eCompliance (forms, checklists, field observations)
  • Participate in JHSC meetings and provide technical support for safety initiatives
  • Work alongside Supervisors and Managers to implement immediate corrective actions and practical field solutions
  • Contribute to Safety Alerts and internal communications with real-world, field-driven insights
  • Prepare and track weekly KPI updates for the Health & Safety Manager

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety (college diploma or university degree)
  • CRSP designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (required for travel between sites)
  • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’re comfortable working with crews, supervisors, and committees
  • Ability to conduct inspections and support incident investigations in active work environments
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation
  • Comfortable using safety management systems such as eCompliance

What we offer

  • Comprehensive total rewards package and benefits to support your wellbeing
  • Leaders who support your growth and success
  • Flexible work policies and strong work-life balance
