Job Description

The Health & Injury Prevention Advisor plays a key role in musculoskeletal injury prevention, intervention, and recovery, and also in Occupational health intervention, Screening & Education. The role also provides assistance in the management of return to work plans, health monitoring, injury risk mitigation and safety support. You will work in a FIFO capacity at one of our MinRes-owned and operated sites in the goldfields or Pilbara regions on a 8:6 Roster FIFO form Perth.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate the MinRes Health Promotion calendar with facilitation of monthly health and injury prevention topics, including workshops, seminars and toolbox topics
  • Review ergonomic and manual task risk assessments and provide recommendations for hazard elimination and mitigation strategies, including Job Dictionary review facilitation
  • Conduct field interactions and 1-on-1 infield coaching to staff on body positioning and completion of manual and high-risk tasks
  • Provide health coaching to motivate and inspire our people to set and achieve sustainable health goals through physical activity and sustainable behavioural change
  • Develop health and exercise programs for individuals and facilitation of individual and group fitness classes for all capabilities and fitness levels

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Current CPR and Provide First Aid
  • Valid WA ‘C’ class manual driver’s license
  • Safety qualification
  • Competence in health & safety based data system
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar health and injury prevention function developing a sustainable and inclusive program
  • Demonstrated experience in the mining/resources sector (12 months minimum)
  • Case management in a clinical or vocational rehabilitation setting

  • Promote, conduct, and submit site audits. Audit work areas to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and strengthen a proactive safety culture. Provide coaching where necessary
  • Review and improve site safety programs to ensure safety is fully integrated into the project work culture
  • Participate in and oversee the preparation of risk assessments and job hazard analyses for construction activities, ensuring all necessary preventive measures are defined
  • Participate in the development of task-related documentation and safety specifications and verify that all safety precautions are adequately addressed
  • Maintain liaison with external organizations (clinics, fire departments, rescue teams, etc.) to ensure adequate emergency response and support
  • Conduct or coordinate safety training and toolbox talks to communicate policies, procedures, and best practices to field teams
