Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Clerk to support a premier healthcare client in an onsite, metrics-driven role. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior experience in high-volume records processing and a strong commitment to accuracy, productivity, and compliance. The Health Information Clerk will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, organization, and accessibility of patient health records.
Job Responsibility:
Perform accurate scanning and indexing of medical records, with a focus on birth certificates
Prepare documents for processing by organizing and verifying their completeness
Maintain compliance with TRICARE and other healthcare regulations during record management
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient handling of medical records
Address offshore and onsite data management needs as required
Ensure the security and confidentiality of patient information
Utilize electronic systems to support the organization’s medical recordkeeping processes
Assist in resolving discrepancies or issues related to documentation and indexing
Provide support in maintaining the accuracy and accessibility of the hospital’s records system
Accurately image, scan, index, and process clinical documentation in accordance with healthcare and regulatory standards
Process birth certificates and related documentation with strict adherence to confidentiality and accuracy requirements
Maintain and meet established productivity metrics, including pages scanned per hour and records processed per day
Ensure proper organization, labeling, and quality control of electronic and paper medical records
Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies while maintaining data integrity
Follow HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies to protect patient privacy and sensitive health information
Collaborate with internal departments to support timely and efficient medical records workflows
Requirements:
Proven experience in scanning and indexing documents, preferably in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with medical record systems and processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
Knowledge of TRICARE and NIS requirements is a plus
Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday as part of a healthcare team
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in handling sensitive information securely and ethically
Previous experience working with birth certificates is preferred
