SUMMARY: The Health Educator will be responsible for coordinating developmental activities that are focused on establishing a comprehensive preventative and health service program. This will include the implementation of a wide range of health education initiatives and services designed to promote healthy living, prevent illnesses, and address health disparities in the community. The candidate will work closely with other healthcare professionals and community leaders to identify health education needs and develop effective strategies for meeting these needs.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement culturally appropriate health education programs and initiatives for the tribal community, focusing on addressing health disparities and improving health outcomes
Provides technical guidance and works with Omaha Tribe Health Board, CHN's, Community Health Representatives, Emergency Medical Technicians, Public School officials, and all other concerned with the promotion of a preventative health service program within the Health Center and community
Collaborate with healthcare providers, community members, and other stakeholders to identify health needs and develop effective health education strategies
Conduct outreach to the Omaha Tribe and community to promote health education programs and initiatives, including coordinating and participating in community events and health fairs
Develop and distribute health education materials, such as brochures, flyers, and posters, to educate the community on a variety of health topics
Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to determine the effectiveness of health education programs and initiatives, and make recommendations for improvement
Collect, analyze, and interpret health data to identify trends and prioritize health education initiatives
Provide training and support to healthcare providers and other community stakeholders on effective health education strategies and techniques
Serve as a liaison between the tribal community and healthcare providers, helping community members navigate the healthcare system and connect with appropriate resources
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of health education programs and initiatives, including attendance, outcomes, and evaluations
Stay up-to-date on the latest research, trends, and best practices in health education and public health, and incorporate this knowledge into health education programs and initiatives
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
Four (4) years of equivalent experience in a health related field or similar
Certified Nursing Assistant
Must pass background check, physical, and pre-employment drug screen
