The Health Education Associate I, under the supervision of the Program Administrator, will support and lead substance use prevention curriculum delivery at Northeast LA schools for both students and parents. In addition, the role will participate in substance use prevention–specific activities and community coalition efforts, help implement youth events and community listening sessions, and assist with all evaluation activities. The Associate will also lead and facilitate youth leader meetings at Northeast LA schools and contribute to youth led strategic planning and environmental or systems change initiatives.
Job Responsibility:

Work with culturally diverse and low income populations
Exercise sound judgment
Coordinate with a wide range of schools
Requirements:
2+ years of community outreach experience
Local travel to events required
Must be able to lift and transport items to community events
General knowledge of family systems, health and safety, and parent education are a must
College education preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
Bachelor's Degree highly preferred
Nice to have:
Bilingual in English/Spanish
2+ years of experience working with schools, adolescent/young adult care, or substance use related programming
General knowledge of substance use prevention efforts, youth care and programming, and confident presentation skills
Excellent people skills, good written and verbal communication skills
