To perform clinical laboratory testing which assists in the diagnosis of pathological conditions at Student Health Services.

To perform clinical laboratory testing which assists in the diagnosis of pathological conditions at Student Health Services

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary staff
  • Demonstrated ability to perform varied clinical laboratory analysis
  • Demonstrated skills in proper specimen collection, including patient preparation, transportation and storage of specimens
  • Working knowledge of reagent stability and storage
  • Demonstrated skills in implementing quality control policies and procedures of the laboratory
  • Demonstrated knowledge of factors that influence test results
  • Demonstrated skills to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample values prior to reporting patient test results
  • Basic computer skills
  • Some experience in clinical laboratory testing
  • Some experience in performing CBC’s, mono antibody, urine pregnancy, rapid strep, urinalysis, rapid flu, whole blood glucose, sed rates and wet preps

Nice to have:

  • Laboratory testing in an out-patient facility
  • MLT or MT ASCP certified or equivalent experience, education, or training
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Associate Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical laboratory technology or equivalent training, education or experience in a clinical laboratory setting
