Health Care Assistant role providing support and care to elderly residents within nursing homes in Porthcawl. The position offers flexible/agency/ad hoc hours, including long days, night (wakes) shifts and split shifts (AM/PM). Drivers are strongly encouraged to apply due to the location. The role involves supporting daily needs, personal care, and promoting independence for residents, including those with mental health, dementia, learning disabilities, and physical health conditions. The agency also offers opportunities to work with various clients including learning disabilities, hostels, homelessness, children and young people, and mental health.
Job Responsibility:
Provide support and care to elderly residents within nursing homes
Support elderly residents with their daily needs, safety, and independence
Support individuals with mental health, dementia, learning disabilities and physical health
Provide personal care which may include bathing/showering, toileting, dressing
Use strong communication skills, including for non-verbal communication
Promote independence, aid to develop life skills, and encourage involvement in activities
Work as part of a team to provide the highest quality of care
Treat residents with respect for their choices and preferences
Requirements:
6 months UK based care experience in the last year OR a year in the last 5 years
Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
Willing to undergo DBS and reference checks
Willing to undertake personal care
To be approachable, friendly, proactive and engage with the services users
Great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
