The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies
Lead training sessions for staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures
Investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective actions
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training
Administer medical surveillance program
Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring program
Collaborate with departments to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations
Stay up-to-updated on new legislation and industry best practices
Manage emergency response plans and first aid readiness
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent (e.g. PE or CHMM) are preferred
Proven experience in a health and safety role preferred
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to analyze data and write detailed reports
Flexibility to work additional shifts to match work requirements
US citizenship is required
