We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee and optimize safety programs across multiple operational sites in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This role requires a strategic leader who can foster a proactive safety culture, drive risk reduction initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety standards throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Manage environmental compliance related to waste disposal, air and water quality, chemical management, and emergency response
Provide EHS training and resources to staff at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance metrics to leadership and regulatory agencies
Liaise with regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure all required reporting and permits are up to date
Oversee the development and execution of emergency preparedness and response plans
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, facilities, and HR to ensure alignment with safety objectives and continuous process improvements
Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes, recommending and implementing updates to company EHS programs as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred
equivalent experience may be considered
A minimum of 5–10 years of progressive safety experience in a manufacturing environment, with multi-site leadership experience preferred
Proven ability to lead safety culture improvements and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver effective training sessions
High integrity, credibility, and the ability to lead without direct authority
Relevant safety certifications, such as OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, are required
