Job Description:

The Health & Safety Manager plays an important part in adding value providing tactical support, information and guidance necessary for the operations team to deliver their service in a safe manner.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide tactical support, information and guidance necessary for the operations team to deliver their service in a safe manner
  • Provide EHS guidance and support at all levels of the business
  • Manage, maintain, and develop H&S procedures and standards, ensuring that UK regulatory and ISO 45001 requirements are met
  • Advise and support Contract/Project and Site Managers to fulfil their responsibilities for the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees
  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of their duties and responsibilities and providing advice as needed
  • Preparing and chairing team, project, and Client-facing meetings when necessary
  • Engage in regular travel to customers throughout East Anglia, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Essex

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent qualification) is essential for this role
  • Technician membership of IOSH or similar is required
  • Knowledge of document management systems, ISO 45001 or similar
  • Experience in supporting senior management to cultivate a positive health and safety culture
  • Experience in translating health and safety legislation into practical policies, procedures, processes, and guidance
  • Producing reports for individual sites, operatives to accident ratio, KPIs, PPE suitability, etc.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Relevant experience of developing and implementing H&S policies and procedures
