A leading North American provider of infrastructure service solutions is seeking a dedicated HSE Coordinator to join their Canadian operations. This is a newly created position designed for a passionate health and safety professional who enjoys a mix of data management, document creation, and collaborative relationship building. While the company is technically classified under construction regulations, this role operates within a service and distribution environment. You will serve as a central point of contact for safety compliance across multiple Canadian provinces, ensuring that both internal teams and external subcontractors maintain the highest safety standards.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and validate statistical data using software
Track workplace inspections, risk reporting, and incident data
Create, update, and maintain Health & Safety manuals and training materials
Lead "Safety Talks" for office-based and remote personnel
Assist the Health & Safety Manager with national risk management
Lead participation in provincial COR (Certificate of Recognition) audits
Act as a validator to ensure external service partners are consistently submitting required safety documentation
Support the Human Resources team on various health, safety, and wellness initiatives
Requirements:
1–3 years of experience in Health & Safety (Service or Distribution industry experience is preferred)
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (ability to use formulas and link data between spreadsheets)
Familiarity with safety management software
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable presenting safety topics and building relationships with Project Managers
A "self-starter" with high initiative who is comfortable working in an evolving department
