Job Description

As the site Health & Safety Coordinator you will help to deliver our Company’s strategic priority of “Safety First” through owning and driving health and safety activities on site. You will be based in a factory environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Putting Safety First – role-modelling expected health & safety behaviours and championing health and safety on site
  • Complete safety monitoring exercises on site and ensure checks are carried out by other personnel
  • Promote hazard and near miss reporting on site and lead feedback and improvement activities
  • Produce and review risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Deliver health & safety briefings, toolbox talks and training
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, establishing root causes and agreeing corrective actions

Requirements

  • Driven, self-motivated, and has a 'can-do' attitude
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Hands on
  • Demonstrate ownership and driving of health and safety activities
  • Proven ability in ownership/driving of health and safety in a professional setting

Nice to have

  • A recognised Health and Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Any previous galvanizing or steel experience
