Gelder Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join our team, based at our Head Office near Lincoln. This is a pivotal position providing health and safety support across all divisions of the business – Insurance Repair & Renovation, Commercial (including New Builds), and Facilities, Repairs & Maintenance (FRM). The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with current legislation, and supporting management in maintaining safe systems of work throughout the organisation. This role requires regular travel to our regional offices in Barlborough and Lichfield, as well as various project sites. The role offers a predominance to the administration of statutory health and safety documentation.
Job Responsibility:
Provide competent and professional health and safety advice to management and operational teams
Create, prepare, review, and implement Construction Phase Plans in line with CDM Regulations
Conduct site audits and inspections, producing clear reports and recommendations
Support the development and delivery of training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
Assist in the investigation of incidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate actions are implemented
Maintain and update company health and safety, procedures, and records
Liaise effectively with internal colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Requirements:
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or an equivalent Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (essential)
Previous experience within a construction or property services environment
Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations
Extensive and competent IT skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a professional and calm approach
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to company sites and regional offices as required
