Job Description:

The Health and Safety Adviser (Trades) role at Haringey Council is a critical position responsible for providing competent and professional health and safety advice and support to Council services to ensure continuous improvement in performance. You will be empowered to support the Senior Health and Safety Adviser (Property and Trades) by supporting the development, implementation, promotion, review and monitoring the Councils Health and Safety Management Systems and associated policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing competent and professional health and safety advice and support to Council services to ensure continuous improvement in performance
  • Supporting the Senior Health and Safety Adviser (Property and Trades) by supporting the development, implementation, promotion, review and monitoring the Councils Health and Safety Management Systems and associated policies and procedures
  • Working closely with professionals from diverse departments
  • Contributing to the seamless functioning of operations to better serve the community

Requirements:

  • Minimum of the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • CertIOSH (or equivalent professional membership)
  • Strong health and safety experience within property-focused capital works and trades-based activities
  • Experience of providing competent health and safety advice in the public sector or for other large multi-site organisations
  • Detailed knowledge of the practical application of current occupational health and safety legislation, best practice in accident and ill health prevention
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational prowess, adeptly handling multiple tasks and prioritizing them for optimal efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
