Job Description:

The Headteacher will provide strong, inspirational leadership to ensure high-quality education, care and outcomes for all pupils. The role is responsible for shaping a positive school culture, leading continuous improvement, and ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential. The school supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The Headteacher will champion inclusive, therapeutic and pupil-centred practice throughout the school.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the strategic direction, vision and day-to-day leadership of the school
  • Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and attendance
  • Create a safe, calm and ambitious learning environment where pupils can thrive
  • Develop, motivate and manage staff through effective supervision, appraisal and professional development
  • Use data and evaluation to drive improvement and raise standards
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, regulatory and inspection requirements
  • Manage resources, staffing and budgets effectively
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and relevant leadership experience
  • Significant experience working with pupils with ASC and SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of high-quality teaching, school improvement and inspection frameworks
  • Ability to lead, inspire and hold others to account
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
