Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice as the newest member of the Senior Leadership Team. Our ethos is that of being ferociously independent, proud to offer exceptionally high-standards of care, and manage a strong culture of openness, development and pride. The team are currently 3.5 FTE Nurses with a fantastic team of clinicians and ANA support. In terms of services, we offer everything! All GP cases, some exotics are all welcomed through our doors. Surgery and laparoscopy, diagnostic Imaging (including CT referrals, internal Medicine, BOAS and Emergency Medicine & Critical Care cases.

Job Responsibility

  • Have a team of direct reports, including the nursing, students and non-clinical teams
  • Get stuck in with all things nursing: schedule 3, wards rounds, managing consults, support L&D of the team, managing CPD, behaviour checks and supporting prescriptions
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and induction of veterinary nurse and VNA team members
  • Assist with clinical audits, RCVS Practice Standards Scheme compliance, and quality improvement projects as required
  • Be responsible for overall Health and Safety

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience as Head RVN, Clinical Nursing Manager, or Senior RVN
  • Experience with schedule 3, ward rounds, managing consults, supporting L&D, managing CPD, behaviour checks, supporting prescriptions
  • Experience overseeing recruitment, selection, and induction of veterinary nurse and VNA team members
  • Experience with clinical audits, RCVS Practice Standards Scheme compliance, and quality improvement projects
  • Responsible for overall Health and Safety
