The Head Teacher provides leadership and direction for a high-quality early childhood classroom serving children ages 3–5. This educator designs and implements developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences that promote social-emotional growth, pre-academic readiness, and independence. The Head Teacher models best practices in early education and behavior support, supervises assistant teachers, and collaborates closely with families and the program director.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and implement a comprehensive, play-based curriculum aligned with early learning standards
Design daily activities supporting early literacy, math, science, art, and motor development
Conduct observation and authentic assessment of each child’s progress
Foster a warm, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom climate
Implement positive behavior support strategies consistent with ABA principles
Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff
Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health, and safety standards
Requirements:
Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
State certification in Early Childhood or equivalent credential
Minimum 2 years of classroom experience with preschool-age children
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and positive behavior supports
Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
