Job Description:

The home visitor works with families to support parents in strengthening their skills as the primary educators of their children. Home visitors develop and apply expertise in preschool development, assessment and implementation of individualized services. This position works collaboratively with other Head Start staff to deliver quality services to all enrolled families and to further the mission of Head Start. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Job Responsibility:

  • Works with families to support parents in strengthening their skills as the primary educators of their children
  • Develops and applies expertise in preschool development, assessment and implementation of individualized services
  • Works collaboratively with other Head Start staff to deliver quality services to all enrolled families and to further the mission of Head Start

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a home based CDA or equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education or Human Services
  • Experience working with preschool children and their families, understanding parenting issues, adult learning styles, and sensitivity to the needs of low-income families
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance required
  • Ability to commit to a flexible work schedule that includes some evening and weekend hours
  • Knowledge of community resources
