Job Description:

At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens (ranked No. 17 in the World’s 50 Best Hotels), we are seeking a highly skilled Head Sommelier to join our Pelagos Restaurant and Astron Bar team for the Season 2026 (minimum 6 or 7 months contract). You will design the wine and beverage menus, train and lead the sommeliers team, advise guests, and ensure the highest standards of beverage service throughout our outlets.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and manage the wine and beverage menus for Pelagos Restaurant, Astron Bar & Lounge, and Aristotle’s
  • Advise and inform guests about wine selections and other beverages in an engaging and knowledgeable manner
  • Train, mentor, and supervise sommeliers and commis on service and sales techniques
  • Collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef on wine pairing and menu development
  • Maintain high standards of service, hygiene, and presentation
  • Control beverage costs and contribute to financial and operational goals
  • Supervise beverage deliveries, storage, and merchandising
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement action plans to enhance the beverage experience
  • Assist with service across different hotel outlets, events, and in-room dining as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sommelier or Head Sommelier in luxury hotels or Michelin-starred restaurants
  • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and beverage service standards
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • European Passport or legal right to work in Greece
  • Fluency in English
  • Greek is an advantage
