Head Sommelier role at Maison Estelle, a private members’ club in a Grade I-listed Georgian townhouse on Grafton Street, Mayfair. The role involves managing the wine department and ensuring an exceptional hosted experience for members.
Job Responsibility:
Managing the day-to-day operations and activities within the members club
Overseeing the preparation of all wines and ensure quality and consistency
Recommending food and wine pairings to our members
Advising members on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices
Informing members about different varieties of wines and prices
Ensuring wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
Providing direction to the Sommelier team during service
Storing opened bottles properly
Managing wine cellar and ensure it is stocked as requested
Training junior colleagues and other F&B colleagues on available wines
Maintaining all department control procedures
Being an ambassador for our members club
Suggesting changes or improvements
Having good communication skills and proficiently liaising with all departments
Requirements:
WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced
At least 3 years proven experience in a Sommelier role within a luxury / lifestyle hospitality business
Excellent time-management skills
Obsessive about wine
