Head Pastry Chef position at The London EDITION and award-winning Berners Tavern Restaurant. Opportunity to join and help lead the culinary team working alongside Chef Partner Jason Atherton and Executive Chef. The role involves leading the Pastry team, focusing on Berners Tavern Restaurant kitchen operation while overseeing Room Service, Bar and Banqueting pastry culinary operation. Berners Tavern offers contemporary British menu using the best products in the British Isles.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the Pastry team on a daily basis
  • Work alongside Chef Partner Jason Atherton and Executive Chef
  • Be innovative, resourceful and ensure cost effective management to maximise F&B profitability
  • Maintain health & safety standards in the kitchen
  • Guide the team, identify developmental needs and coach others to improve their knowledge and skills
  • Focus on Berners Tavern Restaurant kitchen operation
  • Oversee Room Service, Bar and Banqueting pastry culinary operation

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Head Pastry chef in a high quality restaurant or hotel
  • Strong awareness of trends and seasonality of produce
  • A highly creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in maintaining and respecting brand-approved Look Book standards for guest amenities
  • Proven ability to manage, train and motivate a team
  • Experience in managing staff costs, scheduling and reviewing staff rotas and holidays
  • Strengths in finances, purchasing and menu costing
  • A working knowledge of health and safety, compliance and procedures
