Capital City College is looking for a skilled Head of Welfare and Student Finance to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.
Job Responsibility:
Lead welfare, Looked After Children (LAC) and financial support services across the college
Provide strategic and operational leadership of learner welfare and finance services
Oversee bursaries and hardship funding
Manage budgets
Lead a specialist team
Ensure services are compliant, transparent and student-centred
Act as the Designated Staff member for care-experienced learners
Drive effective multi-agency working
Ensure robust support systems that remove barriers to learning and promote success
Line manage 7 staff, supporting their professional growth
Requirements:
Confident working with data, budgets and reporting to inform decision-making
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex processes
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Strong understanding of learner finance, bursaries and financial support systems, including relevant statutory guidance
Proven experience in leading and managing student support, welfare or learner services within an education or similar setting
Leadership experience in welfare, education or a related field
Effective communicator, confident team leader
