The Head of US Sales-Central-Advanced Surgery is responsible for developing the US Advanced Surgery sales strategy to meet business objectives with a revenue focus of 250M+. The Head of US Sales-Central-Advanced Surgery maintains and develops key strategic relationships and collaborates with cross-functional and cross-business partners with a sense of urgency to develop innovative and compliant solutions to create value for customers. The Head of US Sales-Central-Advanced Surgery leads a team of regional sales leaders who execute the strategy to secure existing business, generate incremental opportunities and meet annual sales requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for the direct management of a team of IDN leaders
Oversee the development and execution of the integrated sales strategy and growth plan for the US Advanced Surgery business
Responsible for strategic account portfolio development, disciplined pipeline management, and integrated sales strategy execution to achieve the plan
Responsible for contract strategy, pricing, and language for IDNs and GPOs
Achieve results in a matrixed environment to ensure alignment and collaboration across Baxter’s business units
Lead large IDN and GPO contract negations for the Advanced Surgery business
Ensure positive customer experiences, value creation, retention, and growth
Play a key leadership role in working with, Marketing, Medical, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Field Sales teams to ensure Baxter and customer goals are met, enterprise value propositions and strategies are fully developed, implemented, and represented in strategic IDNs
Develop strategic account plans and metric-driven Customer-centric Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, industry associations, and other clients
Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain a compliant and diverse workforce
Promote the Baxter Culture through positive ongoing customer relations.
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team to achieve financial goals & strategic business objectives in a complex, matrixed environment
Must have executive presence and exceptional written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of business drivers, clinical applications, and value proposition for all products within the Baxter portfolio (Hospital Products, Advanced Surgery, Renal, Care Solutions, and FLC)
Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and anticipates the impact of emerging market trends on customers
Excellent customer orientation and negotiation skills
Strong project management skills to lead multiple high-priority projects with multiple stakeholders (internal and external)
Ability to manage fast-paced environments and organize, manage, and coordinate resources
Success in leading multi-year complex sales and contract negotiation processes
Demonstrate broad organizational awareness by accurately perceiving and navigating organizational, political, and social dynamics within Healthcare Systems
Effective relationship development and interpersonal skills
Must have strong sales management abilities, strategic planning skills, financial acumen, and analytical skills
10 or more years of progressive Healthcare sales and contracting experience
50% Travel required
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
