Job Description:

As the Head of UK Energy Development at FCC Environment, you will lead the development and delivery of our Energy Division, driving forward district heating networks, private wire networks, capacity extensions, CCUS and other decarbonisation schemes, as well as new Energy from Waste (“EfW”) projects. You’ll ensure effective transitional management of projects, compliance with Project Agreements, and support the renewal and extension of existing contracts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Energy Division’s strategy
  • Identify, investigate, and develop proposals for energy projects (district heating, private wire, CCUS, EfW, etc.)
  • Manage project transitions to operations and ensure contract compliance
  • Develop and deliver new Operation and Maintenance (“O&M”) tendered growth opportunities
  • Support renewal and extension of existing contracts
  • Attend management meetings and contribute to strategic decisions
  • Build and motivate strong teams, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Local Government and regulatory bodies
  • Present project documentation to the UK Board/Approvals Committee
  • Drive business growth through strategic market intelligence and industry networking

Requirements:

  • Degree educated with a proven track record in contract management roles
  • Demonstrable experience working with Local Government/Authorities
  • Broad experience in project identification, development, bidding, operational management, and supplier management
  • Skilled in contract management, performance frameworks, and commercial negotiation
  • At least five years’ experience in energy and/or waste management environments
  • Proven success in delivering business/project development programmes to time, budget, and specification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Commercially astute, results-oriented, and highly motivated
  • Ability to influence at the highest level, both internally and externally
  • Commitment to driving change and continuous improvement
