Job Description

The Opportunity We are partnering with a rapidly growing renewable energy development platform that is building a significant pipeline of battery energy storage and solar projects across Germany. As Head of Transactions, you will take ownership of the commercial strategy, transaction execution, and investment decision-making across the portfolio. Sitting at the intersection of development, finance, and market strategy, you will play a critical role in shaping how projects are structured, financed, commercialised, and ultimately monetised. Working closely with the development team, you will ensure projects are progressed with the right route-to-market strategy, investment rationale, and commercial framework to maximise value creation. This is a highly visible position with direct influence over acquisitions, divestments, partnerships, financing processes, and portfolio strategy. You will also lead and mentor a Junior Transaction Manager. Key Responsibilities Transactions & Commercialisation Lead the execution of project acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Define and execute route-to-market strategies across the portfolio, including merchant, contracted, auction-based, and corporate offtake structures. Lead negotiations with investors, lenders, developers, offtakers, EPC contractors, and other key stakeholders. Manage transaction processes from initial engagement through to signing and financial close. Coordinate due diligence workstreams and ensure projects are transaction-ready. Investment & Portfolio Strategy Own the commercial strategy for individual projects and the wider development pipeline. Partner with development teams to optimise project configurations, development pathways, and value creation opportunities. Translate market developments, regulatory changes, financing conditions, and commercial trends into actionable investment decisions. Support portfolio prioritisation, ensuring resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities. Financial Modelling & Decision Support Build, review, and challenge project financial models and investment cases. Lead scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and valuation exercises across acquisitions and development projects. Prepare investment committee materials and recommendations for senior stakeholders. Establish commercial assumptions and modelling standards across the portfolio. External Growth Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities across renewable energy and energy storage. Support the development of strategic partnerships and joint ventures, particularly around grid infrastructure and project development opportunities. Assess portfolio acquisitions and growth opportunities that align with long-term investment objectives. What Success Looks Like Projects are successfully commercialised and transacted at attractive valuations. High-quality acquisition opportunities are identified and executed. Development projects progress efficiently towards Ready-to-Build (RTB) with clear commercial strategies and robust investment cases. Financial models provide reliable, decision-grade analysis that supports investment and financing activities. The development team is supported by a trusted commercial partner who improves decision-making, speed, and value creation across the portfolio.
