Job Description

We are looking for Head of Software Development with a v-good experience in the IT Industry preferably in Banking with excellent knowledge of software development life cycle to lead a team of developers and provide technical guidance regarding the determination of client/user area application systems requirements for new or modified application programs, prepare system specifications and development, testing and implementation of efficient cost-effective application solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate with users to analyze and understand their needs to evaluate possible solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective one, including third party software solutions
  • Define project milestones and develops program logic
  • Analyze, design and develop systems according to bank’s requirements and in line with divisional policies, standards and procedures
  • Maintain a repository of source Code documentation
  • Performs a variety of preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and planning duties associated with the support, modification and updating of the operations software systems to ensure high availability and quality of service to users and customers
  • Provide technical expertise and support in investigating reported problems and suggest solutions to resolve them
  • Provide after-hours support to banking systems when required
  • Recommend improvements and enhancements in existing systems
  • Prepare estimates of time and resources required to implement system changes
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in order to recommend solutions based on latest technology trends
  • Prepare and deliver technical training to new joiners and other team members
  • Comply with IT’s SDLC methodology, SLAs/ OLAS and COBIT framework

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related subjects from a reputable University
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in the IT Industry preferably in Banking with excellent knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Sound knowledge of development methodologies and programming experience in PL/SQL, C++, Oracle development tools, etc.
  • Sufficient Knowledge of IT infrastructure in banking industry
  • Adequate experience in system analysis, development, testing, implementation and support
  • Sufficient knowledge of UNIX/Windows(x) operating systems and relational databases
