Job Description

We’re hiring a Head of Social to build a social presence people genuinely want to follow. This role exists to significantly raise the bar on how Deel shows up culturally, creatively, and strategically across social platforms. This is not a traditional corporate social media role. It’s for someone who deeply understands internet culture, knows how to engineer viral moments, and can turn social into a meaningful brand and growth lever. You’ll own Deel’s global social strategy end to end, with the autonomy to build something distinctive and ambitious.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and evolve Deel’s global social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, with a clear point of view on the role each platform plays
  • Define and develop an ownable brand voice that feels fun, insightful, aspirational, and native to each platform
  • Build and operate a high-velocity content engine, balancing one-off cultural moments with a consistent always-on cadence
  • Lead creative partnerships with external agencies and creators as collaborators in shaping the brand
  • Lead and develop a small in-house social team (2–3 people), setting a high bar for taste, speed, and execution
  • Use social listening, cultural signals, and audience behavior to insert Deel into relevant conversations in real time
  • Make smart, creative trade-offs, knowing when to take risks and when to protect brand integrity
  • Define success metrics for social and continuously iterate based on performance, engagement, and audience response

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating or leading viral, culturally relevant social content
  • Demonstrated ownership of outcomes, not just participation in campaigns
  • Strong understanding of how content and tone should vary by platform
  • Excellent editorial judgment and storytelling instincts
  • Experience working with creators, agencies, and cross-functional partners
  • Ability to clearly articulate why content worked, not just that it did
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with high autonomy

Nice to have

  • Built or scaled a brand or audience that people actively follow and engage with
  • Worked in consumer, lifestyle, challenger brands, or high-growth tech environments
  • Created social content that travelled beyond its core audience or category
  • Strong writing instincts and intellectual curiosity
  • A bias toward action, experimentation, and shipping over perfect process
  • A point of view on what great social looks like—and the conviction to back it

What we offer

  • Stock grant opportunities dependent on your role, employment status and location
  • Additional perks and benefits based on your employment status and country
  • The flexibility of remote work, including optional WeWork access
