Job Responsibility:
Drive a distinctive rural medical curriculum that addresses Australia’s most pressing health workforce challenges
Champion initiatives that improve health outcomes for rural and First Nations communities
Shape the School of Rural Medicine’s future, fostering innovation in teaching, research, and clinical partnerships
Lead the school with vision and impact - driving a distinctive rural medical curriculum, strengthening partnerships, and advancing initiatives that improve rural health outcomes
Oversee program design and accreditation, fosters research excellence, manages budgets and compliance, and represents the school in key forums, while inspiring academic and clinical teams to achieve strategic goals
Seek opportunities for the growth and development of the school by developing and fostering linkages and relationships with industry, government, the professions and community
Contribute to the overall management of the faculty and strategic development of the University
Requirements:
Hold a medical qualification registrable in NSW
Preferably a doctoral degree or equivalent academic standing
Proven ability to effectively lead and develop staff, operate within set budget parameters and deliver identified performance outcomes
A proven track record of excellence in teaching and research
Demonstrated success in improving research productivity and quality, including strategies for securing external research funding
Demonstrated experience in academic management and accreditation processes, and strong decision-making skills
Exhibit high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead teams in complex environments
