Job Description

This role will be a senior member of Heitman’s global capital raising and investor relations platform, responsible for leading fundraising efforts in Korea and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective limited partners (“LPs”). This individual will play a critical role in expanding Heitman’s capital base in the Korean market while serving as the primary senior relationship manager for key institutional investors. The role encompasses all aspects of capital formation and client relationship management, including business development, investor outreach, marketing, and ongoing client service across Heitman’s real estate investment strategies.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead all capital raising and sales activities for Heitman in Korea, with a primary focus on cultivating new institutional investor relationships and deepening engagement with existing LPs
  • Serve as the senior relationship manager and primary point of contact for key Korean investors, delivering best-in-class client service and maintaining long-term, trusted partnerships
  • Develop and execute a Korea-focused fundraising and marketing strategy aligned with Heitman’s global capital formation objectives, incorporating local market dynamics, regulatory considerations, and investor preferences
  • Drive business development efforts across Heitman’s real estate investment strategies by articulating the firm’s platform, products, performance, and value proposition to prospective and existing investors
  • Manage the end-to-end fundraising process, including investor outreach, due diligence coordination, fund documentation support, and closing activities
  • Collaborate closely with global senior leadership, investment teams, legal, compliance, and finance functions to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate investor communications and reporting
  • Lead and participate in investor meetings, roadshows, portfolio update sessions, and key client events, including annual meetings and bespoke LP engagements
  • Translate investor feedback and market intelligence into actionable insights to support fundraising strategy, product development, and broader firm-level initiatives
  • Oversee relationships with external advisors and placement agents in Korea, as appropriate
  • Act as a senior representative and brand ambassador for Heitman in the Korean institutional investment community
  • Where applicable, build, manage, and mentor local sales or client-facing resources to support the growth of Heitman’s Korea platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • advanced degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (e.g., CFA) preferred
  • 10–15+ years of relevant experience in capital raising, sales, investor relations, or client-facing roles within real estate private equity, real assets, or alternative investment management firms, or with placement agents or institutional investors
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully raising capital for real estate or real asset funds and leading fundraising processes through final close
  • Deep experience building, managing, and expanding long-term relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, particularly Korean pension plans, mutual aid and benefit associations, insurance companies, and sovereign funds
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies, fund structures, portfolio construction, and performance drivers, with the ability to communicate credibly with senior investment professionals
  • Proven ability to develop and execute regional fundraising strategies, translating market intelligence and investor feedback into actionable business initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-suite executives, senior investment professionals, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong project management capabilities, including oversight of marketing materials, due diligence processes, and investor communications
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams in a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • High standards of integrity, judgment, and professionalism, with a client-centric and ethical approach
  • Ability to operate independently with full ownership while collaborating effectively across global teams
