Job Description

Valtech is a strategic partner for this client, responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operation of business-critical retail platforms across large store networks. This role goes beyond system integration. Valtech owns the design, build, rollout, and run of in-store solutions, ensuring operational stability, scalability, and continuous evolution in live retail environments. Retail operates under high business pressure: stores run continuously, peak periods allow no disruption, and store operations depend on reliable, well-orchestrated systems. Valtech ensures execution at scale, balancing transformation initiatives with day-to-day operational continuity. Acting as a single point of accountability, Valtech coordinates client retail business and IT teams, multiple technology vendors, and global delivery teams to align business objectives with robust execution on the ground. Solutions under Valtech’s responsibility are Oracle Retail suite (XStore, EICS, SIOCS…). It also orchestrates the release of other Retail solutions (clientelling apps, sales rep apps…).

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Valtech’s end-to-end retail delivery for the client and teams across France and India
  • Own the performance, coordination and execution of retail technology initiatives (POS, inventory management, integrations, QA, Support, Release, Agile processes…), ensuring predictable delivery, strong quality standards and seamless collaboration with client’s retail teams
  • Ensure the right organization, processes, capabilities and governance are in place to secure industrialized, scalable delivery
  • Own the global Retail delivery plan for Valtech: scope, milestones, budgets, risks and dependencies
  • Structure and operate the France–India delivery model, ensuring alignment, stability and capacity planning across teams
  • Guarantee predictable delivery with clear commitments, transparent reporting and controlled deviations
  • Lead release governance, environments planning, cutovers and hypercare activities
  • Drive continuous improvement on MTTR, incident reduction, regression prevention, automation and operational excellence
  • Represent Valtech in relevant governance forums: SteerCos, client meetings, release boards, risk reviews…
  • Provide clear and structured communication to the client leadership
  • Escalate risks early, propose concrete mitigation plans, and ensure decisions are actioned
  • Lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams across France and India: engineering, QA, support, DevOps, architects...
  • Ensure the right roles, skills, seniority mix and succession plans are in place to support a large multi-year program
  • Reinforce delivery culture: ownership, accountability, documentation, quality standards, operational KPIs
  • Support hiring, onboarding and capability building for the Retail delivery organization
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the required level of quality before reaching to the client
  • Oversee test strategies, automation roadmap, non-functional requirements and production readiness
  • Implement industrialised processes for CI/CD, monitoring, observability, defect management and SLAs
  • Ensure adherence to the client’s security, privacy and enterprise architecture standards
  • Maintain high-level supervision of key technical domains (XStore, SIOCS, integrations) in collaboration with Valtech’s architects, craft circles, Retail center of excellence…
  • Ensure technical decisions are consistent with the global Retail roadmap and programs
  • Coordinate with client technical leaders and Valtech architects to secure alignment and avoid delivery blockers

Requirements

  • Proven track record in Retail IT management
  • Experience leading distributed delivery teams (onshore/offshore), with strong governance and structure
  • Solid understanding of Retail systems (Oracle ecosystem (XStore, SIOCS), OMS, SAP, payments), enough to challenge and guide the client
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs, multiple streams, and strong business/IT stakeholders
  • Experience working with major global brands or in luxury/fashion retail is a strong plus
  • Clear, direct and structured communicator
  • Strong leadership presence, capable of influencing senior stakeholders
  • High autonomy, ownership and ability to take decisions quickly
  • Comfortable managing pressure, ambiguity and large delivery organisations
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on trust, transparency and long-term partnership
