We're looking for a dedicated Head of Residential Care to help create a warm, safe and high-quality environment for our residents. You'll support the Home Manager in delivering excellent care, maintaining compliance, and leading a valued and motivated team.

Job Responsibility

  • Resident Care & Wellbeing: Support residents to live safe, fulfilling lives by delivering high-quality personal care, promoting physical and mental wellbeing, and creating a warm, secure environment in collaboration with the General Manager
  • Care Planning & Medication: Oversee assessments, care plans and regular reviews, ensuring accurate documentation, effective liaison with health professionals, and safe administration and monitoring of medication
  • Leadership & Staff Management: Lead, supervise and support staff, ensuring effective induction, training, performance standards and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Operational & Administrative Management: Manage rotas, records, complaints, and resources to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the home with appropriate staffing levels and skill mix
  • Quality, Compliance & Safety: Uphold quality assurance standards, safeguarding (SOVA), health and safety, infection control, COSHH, moving and handling, and security procedures
  • Financial & Resource Oversight: Contribute to budget management and financial performance by planning efficient rotas and ensuring equipment and supplies are available and well maintained

Requirements

  • Level 2 and 3 or equivalent care qualification
  • Experience managing or leading a care/clinical team in older people's services
  • Strong communication, leadership and IT skills
