At the Dordrecht site, a wide range of electromagnetic and ultrasonic flowmeters are developed and produced. This professional organization is transforming to become an even better performing company. This position will define and realize this change for the field of Purchasing and SCM. This leadership role is critical in defining and realizing the necessary next steps to achieve and ensure the seamless, cost-effective, and timely availability of resources and materials to support high-quality manufacturing operations in a high-mix, low-volume production environment. This dedicated management position will add value to the newly formed central division, existing of the departments purchasing, demand planning, inbound logistics and outbound logistics.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies for product lines and local business requirements
Lead and develop the purchasing and logistics team
Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
Establish and maintain long-term supplier partnerships for critical components
Mitigate supply risks through dual sourcing, inventory strategies, and vendor scorecards
Oversee demand forecasting, inventory control, and material planning to ensure on-time production
Implement and balance lean and just-in-time (JIT) practices to optimize working capital and reduce waste
Collaborate with production, engineering, development and quality teams to ensure alignment on material needs and lead times
Analyze and improve business processes
Ensure timely inbound and outbound logistics operations through efficient management of your team, including customs compliance and international freight
Optimize warehouse and inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and availability of critical components
Lead supply chain digitalization efforts, including ERP optimization and supplier portal development
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, while maintaining quality and service levels
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Experience in manufacturing in a high-mix, low-volume production environment, preferably in precision instruments or industrial equipment
Proven negotiation skills / track record
Experience in an international, professional, mature manufacturing company (factory)
