Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Public Sector to lead our public sector commercial team. In this role you will be responsible for accelerating LDN’s growth across the NHS and Local Government, while shaping and executing a scalable go-to-market strategy for the wider public sector. You will provide strategic direction, momentum and ownership for LDN’s public sector ambition—focusing on rapid customer acquisition, increased customer penetration and long-term value creation across a large, complex and under-served market. The role prioritises commercial pace, clarity and scale, leveraging LDN’s quality, agility and high-demand programmes to secure as many NHS Trusts and Local Authorities as possible, as quickly as possible and then to maximise their potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and own LDN’s Public Sector go-to-market strategy, with explicit focus on NHS and Local Government
  • Translate the scale of the opportunity into a clear, executable growth plan
  • Identify priority targets, buying routes and customer types to accelerate acquisition and expansion
  • Explore and evaluate future public sector markets beyond NHS and Local Government
  • Deliver a blended individual contribution of c. £700k in Year 1
  • Support the public sector team to deliver its target of c. £3.75m
  • Lead from the front in selected strategic deals
  • Transition to a team-only target model by Year 2
  • Drive growth in both customer numbers and average customer value
  • Lead, coach and empower NHS and Local Government Partnerships Managers
  • Enable scalable strategies, engagement models and team growth
  • Remove blockers and accelerate customer decision-making
  • Build a culture of pace, accountability and ambition
  • Ensure systematic evaluation of expansion opportunity within existing customers
  • Drive multi-product adoption and deeper Enterprise-scale partnerships
  • Support differentiated engagement models by customer size and complexity
  • Maintain a working understanding of public sector procurement environments
  • Shape customer behaviour toward direct award and simplified buying routes
  • Ensure LDN leads buying strategy rather than being constrained by it
  • Act as senior commercial voice for Public Sector across LDN
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product and Delivery teams
  • Represent Public Sector insight and performance in leadership forums

Requirements

  • Experience in apprenticeship sales or B2B sales
  • Experience of managing people, with strong relationship and communication skills
  • Strategically minded and action-oriented
  • Confident senior leader and influencer
  • Empowering and trust-based leadership style
  • Commercially driven, not process-led
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  • Customer-centric with strong commercial judgement
  • Collaborative and development-minded
  • Demonstrates commitment to our values and expected behaviours.

What we offer

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Extra day of holiday for every year of service up to 3 years
  • Home working/flexible working (you will be expected to come into the office at least once a month)
  • Receive a company Apple MacBook
  • Workplace pension with 4% employer's contribution
  • Buy holiday entitlement
  • Discretionary company wellbeing days
  • Head Office near Vauxhall/Stockwell with free tea and coffee
  • Quarterly prizes for top performers in the business
  • Regular social events, including Summer and Christmas parties
  • Ongoing training/development
  • Opportunity for career progression
