Job Description

This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance to our Cardiff office twice per fortnight. It’s an exciting time for Admiral as it continues to embark on its diversification strategy with our newest product – Pet Insurance, launched in the summer of 2022 with huge expansion since through both organic growth and acquisition. The business is on track to be a top 5 player in the market and is looking to embark on the next phase of its disruption strategy to push the business to even greater heights by really focussing on the customer experience and outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • To create strategic plans and budgets that support our growth ambitions
  • Working across the Pet LT to ensure we monitor product and service performance and build a culture, framework and governance that has customer service improvement at the centre
  • To provide overall ownership of existing Pet insurance products and the design and development of new Pet Insurance and Wellness products to meet clearly identified customer needs
  • To make decisions in all matters affecting the performance of Pet Products in accordance with the group strategy and regulatory/compliance requirements
  • To own the overall Product Lifecycle management process, Customer (COMI) and Product performance dashboards embedding these into the overall culture and governance processes of the department
  • Lead the creation of our trading strategies, working with Marketing, PCW & Pet Leadership teams to build customer propositions & trading strategies, maximising lead generation, conversion, Loss ratio and cost efficiencies
  • Embed a data led, performance culture that drives proactive identification of opportunities and threats to the business plan and relentlessly delivers actions to maximise opportunities and mitigate threats
  • Build and lead a department that has great people and service at its core
  • Keep up to date with and have a strong awareness of external market trends and developments in the Product, Marketing and trading space

Requirements

  • Experience in leading, mentoring and motivating a high performance team
  • Experience with existing product management and new product development from design to delivery
  • Strategic thinker, always looking to continuously innovate products to improve the customer experience, sales performance and department efficiency
  • Great digital and external market awareness for new product developments
  • Commercial thinker, able to create innovative plans to grow the business maximising commercial and business outcomes whist putting the customer first
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels, internally and externally, able to build open relationships and gain consensus with all stakeholders
